"Ceramics was always my first love, I just took a slight detour along the way…"
I’m still relatively new to the world of Ceramics having gone into Graphic Design
when I first went to art college many moons ago. I still work within this field as
a freelance magazine and newspaper designer.
By 2004 however, I could bear it no longer and enrolled in a Ceramics degree at Camberwell College. Since finishing my degree I have been at a loss as to what to do and to find a studio for my requirements. Since moving into Gipsy Hill Workshops late last year, I have slowly been re-acquainting myself with the feel of clay while trying to figure out what I want to do.
By the time I left Camberwell I was working on large scale porcelain installations. Now, five years later, I have gone back to basics making coils pots out of black stoneware. Ceramics is an ever evolving medium and I’m really enjoying the lengthy journey in getting to know it again.
